The winter retreat...for the day

What do you do on a sunny, seasonably warm winter day in Central New York? Well, if you are us, you go to The Gathering!

As the New Year began John finally seemed to finally have his complete health back. The realization that we weren't able to get our fall projects done started to weigh us down. We were chomping at the bit, as it where, on one beautiful Sunday in early February. We packed up a cooler and headed over. Built a fire, cooked up a couple of hotdogs for a light lunch, and walked the property.

As we walked to the back of the property we found many different animal prints - deer, fox, bunny, and what looks like a hawk swooping down for his/her meal. Possible evidence of the circle of life.

A couple of weeks later, we were blessed with another beautiful weekend and we were able to go back over, clear out some of the brush and saplings around the pond....and warming by the fire.

As we cleared some land together and warmed by the fire we felt those dreams of last year, before our unplanned hiatus, come rushing back. Spring can't get here quick enough!
